Thanksgiving

During this time of the year our thoughts turn toward expressing thanks for the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us.  I try to remember to give thanks every morning and many times during the day  for the millions of things that I have been blessed with.  One of the things that our family does on Thanksgiving day is to gather around the dining table standing before we have the meal and each one of us states to the group what they are most thankful for.  It is moving to hear the many things that I sometimes had not thought to put on my list of things to be grateful for.
Today the thing that I am most grateful for is GOD's Grace.  He didn't have to do what He did for me, but He did and I am grateful.
May your Thanksgiving be bountiful, peaceful and filled with the love of family and friends.

Obsession Discovered

Did not know that I could become/am obsessed with a color.  Knew that I loved the color red but until I started messing around on the Pinterest site did I come to know how much I love that color.  There are hundred/thousands of thing s that I love in red, from red lipstick, to red cars, red cowboy boots and the list goes on and on.
Join me in the enjoyment of all things red.  Follow me on Pinterest as the list continues to grow.

Let's Take a Look at That!!!

I find that it is very helpful when working with event clients, to create a vision

board, so that when we are communicating about their wants for their big event that we are all on the same page. I create a vision/inspiration  board based on our initial discussion. Once we have an visual of what the preferences for bouquets, flowers, dress style and colors are, it becomes easy to decide if the style works, if the colors are aesthetically pleasing and if this is really what they want the ceremony and reception to look like. It is sometimes difficult to see in our minds eye how things will look if we have all of the wedding elements separate. It creates something all together different when all of the wedding elements can be seen together. As designers, we can then make suggestions of things that could enhance the experience such as lighting, draping, chair treatments, etc.
The vision board to the right was created for a 2012 bride who's initial request was an elegant but simply wedding with clean lines and no 'big' flower arrangements. She wanted to use calla lilies and roses and did not like the huge arrangements traditionally used in the ceremony.
As wedding planners, we feel that the experience leading up to the big day should be as pleasurable as the day of. We try to make the decision making process as stress free as possible, making all choices clear, using as many visual aids as possible.

This is a partial quote from a recent bride, who we created and worked through a vision board with....
Thanks for bringing 'our vision' into light.
I am very excited to be working with you
